This is by far the best Hatchet I've ever used the blade edge is unreal sharp like a knife and holds its edge. The head is tightly fixed into the Red Hickory handle that is 9" long and the best wood choice there is. Knives of Alaska spent 7 months making this perfect trying different alloys and wood types, if you have used any K.O.A. item you know they are fantastic tools, and they are recognized for their workmanship around the world, this Hatchet has already won  Field & Stream "20 best knives ever made" in its second year.  And we have sold 200+ in less then two years numbers like that should tell you you're looking at one of if not the best.
