Vintage Unusual UTAH Bridger #1 Stop Loss Trap Newhouse

Pioneer traps were made for a brief period in 1979-81 for a company based in Lincoln City Oregon.  Many of the traps produced and sold by Pioneer were of advanced design but the uncommon trap offered here is not one of them.  This trap was made for Pioneer at a factory in Taiwan and the design follows a 1930s Animal Trap pattern.  When Pioneer shut down, the factory in Taiwan retained the dies and tools used in production of Pioneer traps.  The same factory subsequently produced many traps for another American trap co named Northwoods. After Northwoods also was closed, a new American company was formed based in Salt Lake City, Utah and the factory in Taiwan who had previously produced traps for Pioneer and Northwoods began production of traps for Bridger. Although is appears that Northwoods never used the Victor "wire dog" pattern that had been produced for Pioneer, this same trap design was produced for Bridger early in their existence and the trap offered here is a "wire dog" #1 stoploss identical to the Pioneer trap that I also have listed but which now has a pan marked Bridger, UTAH.  This design was not used for long and Bridger traps of this design are not common. The traps offered here are in near new condition and are complete, strong and have fully readable pans. This trap conforms to eBay policy that jaw spread may not exceed 5 1/2 inches.
